Carousel Ad
A carousel ad is a single ad unit containing multiple swipeable cards, each with its own image, headline, and destination link.

A carousel ad is a single ad unit that holds multiple swipeable or scrollable cards, each with its own image, headline, and destination link. Instead of one message and one image, the format lets an advertiser present several products, angles, or steps within the same placement, and the user moves through them by swiping or clicking arrows.
How it works#
Each card is essentially its own Ad Creative with a distinct visual and click target, bundled into one cohesive unit. Carousels are common in social feeds and are increasingly supported in Native Advertising placements and feeds. The format must conform to the platform's Native Ad Spec, which defines how many cards are allowed and the dimensions and asset requirements for each.
Why it matters#
Carousels suit storytelling, product catalogs, and step-by-step explanations, and they let advertisers test multiple creatives in a single buy, the strongest card often emerges as the clear performer. For competitive analysis, a carousel reveals an advertiser's full product lineup or messaging sequence in one capture rather than a single hook. That makes carousels a rich source of intelligence on positioning and which offers a brand is pushing hardest.
